The Cape and The Boot was a distinctive event designed to showcase the South African and Italian wine portfolios. With the focus on these two diverse cultures, it was essential that the visual identity captured the essence of both countries while maintaining a cohesive overall look. I opted for an illustrative design style that balanced the cultural contrasts, utilising a small yet striking colour palette. The colours were chosen for their versatility, allowing them to be used interchangeably to represent both South Africa and Italy.
To further enhance the cultural representation, I developed a custom set of icons and patterns unique to each country. These elements were consistently applied across the event’s promotional materials and venue graphics, adding a rich visual layer that celebrated the spirit of both nations. For the logo, I employed a sans-serif font for "The Cape" and a serif font for "The Boot," giving each region its own distinct identity while keeping the overall design unified.
From concept to completion, I managed every aspect of the project, ensuring smooth execution within budget and deadlines. I also worked closely with the marketing team, aligning the visual elements with the event’s strategic goals, and liaised with various stakeholders to ensure the project met its objectives.
